We’ll take care of everything, and there’s no cost to apply for Active Duty service members.

For Active Duty Service Members:
-Flight Itinerary for service member and all family members
-Most recent end of month LES
-(If applicable) Leave form, DA31, Page 2, Surf (E1-E3)
For Non-Active Duty Applicants:
-Hickam Communities Leasing Application
-DD214, Orders or SF50, and/or future DoD Hawaii Job offer final letter (stating acceptance)
-Proof of Income, retirement account summary and/or future DoD Hawaii Job offer l final letter (stating acceptance)
*A credit and background check is required for all non-active duty applicants. There is a $30 fee per applicant for any person over the age of 18; a leasing consultant will contact you to collect payment. This is usually not completed until a MHO referral is completed and a home has been offered.
**Additional Information: If your dependent(s) is/are not included on your PCS orders, additional supporting documentation may be required such as: DEERS Verification of Dependents (DD Form 1172-2) from MPF, Pg 2, marriage or birth certificate, pregnancy verification with expected delivery date, 60-day prior to marriage letter signed by Commander or First Shirt, custody paperwork, etc.
ALL APPLICANTS REQUIRE A COMPLETED MILITARY HOUSING OFFICE (MHO) REFERRAL:
- The MHO Referral is a required document that qualifies an applicant’s eligibility to live in a Hickam Communities home.
- Hickam Communities works in partnership with MHO, but MHO is considered a separate entity. Therefore, the MHO Referral and brief should be completed directly through the Military Housing Office.
- Active Duty: The MHO Referral and brief can be initiated if you are already on island or arriving on island within the next 30 days.
- Non-Active Duty: The MHO Referral and brief can be initiated if you have the required qualifying documents.
