Current Status
Hickam Communities continues to work in close coordination with the Air Force and State Department of Health to help ensure a safe and healthy environment for its families. Following testing for pesticide-impacted (PI) soil throughout its neighborhoods, prescribed remediation has been completed. As part of our long-term soil management plan, soil is being transferred to a berm site located behind homes on Ohana Nui Circle that are adjacent to the highway/freeway. A soil berm is being established to facilitate ongoing soil management for PI soil removed from Hickam neighborhoods. While work continues at the site we want to assure you there is no immediate health concern to your family; we have implemented operating procedures that will help ensure the safety of your family and our workers. Throughout construction, dust mitigation measures will continue and air sampling conducted to ensure dust levels remain low.
